Climate change is making allergy season worse

Do you suffer from allergies? What are you allergic to?

If you’re allergic to pollen, then we have some bad news for you. Climate change is making allergy season worse.

Plants make pollen as part of their reproductive cycle. However, the environment that these flowers are in makes it easy for flowers to thrive – which means more flowers and more pollen. The carbon dioxide we create not only traps more heat in the atmosphere, but it also gives flowers the energy to create pollen.

The increased flower growth as a result of climate change is not a positive effect as the average temperature of earth continues to rise due to pollution. For those who don’t have allergies, pollen can still cause harm to your lungs. Learn more about this in the video below!
