How do your hormones work?

Our hormones come from glands that make up the endocrine system which helps our body regulate our sleep patterns, our heart rate, and our cells. But how do they work?

In our lifetimes, our bodies undergo a series of extraordinary metamorphoses such as growing up, going through puberty, and reproducing. Hormones are chemical messengers that travel throughout the body that regulates growth, metabolism, and fertility. We have several hormone-producing glands in the body, and the hormones produced each play a role in our body.

Hormones are the reason why your arms are the same length, why you can turn food into fuel, and why you changed drastically during puberty. It helps the distant parts of your body communicate with each other especially during elaborate and important events.
